Ando Visits Empo-Town!

Last weekend, Andrew drove all the way down from Minnesota to visit the thriving metropolis of Empo-town and to see his little sister. It was a weekend of adventures and memories. Allow me to explain...

We met him at the Emporia mall (yes, Emporia has a mall) to buy him a Sunday shirt that he had forgotten.



After a great buy, we headed to Bobby D's BBQ -- a famous local bbq joint. Trust me, the food there is GOOD! Andrew, not be a spicy food person that he is, ordered a pail/bucket of wings, one of them being the spiciest that you can get. He was very brave.





I ordered a southwest chicken salad and the dressing they used was a mixture of bbq sauce and ranch. Like I said, this place has GOOD food!



Sunday, my parents and Erika drove up so they could see Andrew. (Note to self: To get your parents to visit you, bring your brother down from Minnesota!) It was fun hanging out. Doh and Gowoon joined us for lunch! We skyped with Melissa for a while, too. That was special.





Erika serenaded us with some beautiful piano playing. (Isn't she gorgeous?)

Of course, we had to include a game or 2 (or 5) of Jungle Speed! It's such an addicting game and SUPER FUN! Things got a little intense between Doh and Sherlynn.





Sunday evening, we took a drive around town to show Ando the sights. While we were driving, it started raining/hailing/sleeting off and on. Of course, due to the weather, we HAD to stop for a cup of joe (or hot chocolate in Andrew's case).



Since it was dark when we ate at Bobby D's, we took a picture by the sign the next day. We ran in the "hail", across the street, in the wind and cold for these pictures:




I made sure Andrew had a chance to take a picture with Corky, ESU's famous mascot.



When we got back, we made crepes. (I used to make these every Thursday for supper before Youth Group.) They were DELICIOUS!




I made a smiley face on one, only to realize that while I was smiling for the camera, the crepe was turning into a sobbing monster.

I love my brother. We have a lot of fun together.




I am so happy that he came to visit!
