An Official Emporia State Graduate

Well, friends, I've done it. I've completed my undergraduate at Emporia State University and graduated summa cum laude, with a GPA of 3.96. Saturday was the ceremony and it was a bittersweet day. Bitter, because my parents were in Niger and unable to come to my graduation, but sweet because my sister and so many of my aunts and uncles did. It was a very special time and I felt extremely loved and appreciated. After the ceremony was a co-graduation party with Tony Pearce. Katie and Sherlynn did an excellent job of organizing and planning all of it. What a fun time of visiting and hanging out with friends. Thanks to all of you who stopped by. Jim Pearce surprised me by asking my dad to write an email for the occasion and then reading it out loud. What a tear-jerker!

I can't believe my time at ESU is over. So many memories. Maybe I'll just have to go back and get my Masters. I don't know if I can stay away!

Here are a few pictures from the big day.

This last one is a picture of all of us secondary education English majors. Well, all but one, anyway. One guy came late. Sorry, Cody.

I still can't believe it actually happened. Reality hasn't quite set in. I don't feel quite old enough to be a college graduate! No more classes to enroll in. No more books to buy. At least, for now...!
