Melissa's 28 Today !

Today is my Sister-Sue's birthday! She is the best older sister in the entire world. True statement. She was away at boarding school for three years when she was in high school and I always missed her so much. I thought she was the coolest person in the world and I loved copying everything she did, much to her aggravation. When she would come home from boarding school, she did a good job of being "big sister." She would take me on sister dates. Our first date together was at home, where we watched my first chick-flick, She's all that, (She told me I should have a crush on Freddie Prinze Jr. because he was sooo attractive) and drank sparkling grape juice out of glass goblets she had bought for the occasion!

We share a lot of common interests: reading, journaling, coffee-shops, an appreciation for literature, road-trips, saying super emotioanl-sappy things to get Erika to "flutter her eyelids," etc.
Melissa is one of my biggest supporters in writing.
She often edits my work...and cries every time!

Unfortunately, we also share similar noses; long, with a slight bump on the bridge, and forms an arrow-head tip at the bottom. Hers is slightly wider, mine is slightly longer. Both undesirable!

We tend to do crazy things together. For example, when we were road-tripping to cousin Cassie's wedding, we saw an old abandoned house on the side of the highway and decided to jump out, "explore," and take pictures.

When we road-tripped to Minnesota, I read The Scarlet Letter out loud to her.

We both love Stade Rennais!

We both like to take goofy pictures and pretend they look classy because they're taken at cool angles or in unusual poses! :)

Melissa-Sue is beautiful
She's talented
She speaks English, French, and is learning Spanish.
She has a sharp intelligent mind and a kind generous heart.

I'm so glad she's the oldest because she does the best job of relating to all three of the rest of us. I think she often knows me better than I know myself. She brings out the best in all of us younger siblings.

I'm so glad she's the oldest because she truly is someone that I look up to, admire, and respect. She's my role model in so many different ways.

I'm so proud to have a sister serving and seeking the Lord with all her heart, mind, soul, and strength. (And I'm glad you chose to work with Agape in France!!!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SISTER!

  2. I talked to Melissa this morning, and she loved the post. However, she wishes you would have elaborated a little more on her nose. =)
